Sackstrasse - Graz Altstadt - Old City Center

Sackstrasse

This short old-city street runs North from Hauptplatz and merges into Kaiers Josef Kai. It has many important addresses along the way, including several magnificent buildings called Palais, some of which now house museums and exhibitions. Dreifaltigkeiskirche (Trinity Church); Schlossbergplatz, and the city's most renowned department store - Kastner & Oehler - are all located on this street, as is the Krebsenkeller, a cellar-restaurant with a pedigree spanning hundreds of years. K & O features a ultra-modern roof-level cafe with a terrace/skywalk that affords a view of the city's street scene from above and a unique vantage point to take in the vistas of the Schlossberg and other surrounding landmarks that stand out in a sea of red roofs.
